Summer Training - Beat The Heat

"Beat The Heat" is a 6-week structured training program:

*Run Specific Workout every Wednesday at 6:00pm

Each week, we will focus on everything from running form to how to perfect efficiency and speed through certain run drills and workouts.

*Crosstraining Workout every Saturday at 7:00am

 Saturdays will be a full-body workout to effectively strengthen the run muscles and their supporting muscle groups.


When: Weekly training runs will be at 6:00pm on Wednesday and 7:00am on Saturdays. Our first training run begins on Saturday, July 1st, 2017. 

Where: The group meets from the store, local parks or coffee shops (Locations will vary from time to time and will be communicated weekly by email.)

***Participants are required to wear reflective gear for evening workouts and carry water. 

Requirements: Our Summer session brings high temperatures so for your safety you will be required to carry personal hydration during all group runs.  If you need help choosing the appropriate water bottle and hydration products, we'd be happy to help you at one of our store locations.  In low light conditions, you will be required to have reflective gear or safety lights and/or a head lamp during group runs.  We want to make sure all participants are visible to traffic.  Our staff would be happy to help you with this as well.

Program CostEarly bird registration $65.00 until May 31st, on June 1st the fee increases to $75.00, then August 1st to $85. (Please note: Race registration for the target race is NOT included in your program cost.) This program will be capped at 30 participants.

Description: WHAT IS BEAT THE HEAT: "Beat The Heat" is a 6-week structured training program with Run Specific Workout every Wednesday and Crosstraining Workout every Saturday. The program is designed to guide you safely and effectively into running and staying in shape, while learning valuable information on healthy living for life. Perfect for people who do not run at all, have a hard time starting, are unsure what to do or need accountability, especially in these HOT summer months! This program starts out walking for some or with intervals and slowly builds into running.
