Recipe of the Month!
Paleo Almond Brownies
As we kick off “Nutrition with Nate” I’d like to introduce one of my favorite paleo desserts for my debut recipe! This recipe is extremely simple and is also exceptionally healthy (not to mention, they taste AMAZING). I know what you must be thinking- “Brownies? Healthy?! No Way! Yes way. Each brownie yields 80 calories, 2 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of protein, and LESS than a gram of sugar. Feel free to indulge without feeling like you’re cheating on your diet! Until next time, this has been "Nutrition with Nate’s" Recipe of The Month!
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Roasted Almonds
- 1 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 Packet Truvia/Stevia Sweetener
- 1 Large Egg
- Blender
Steps
- Pour almonds into blender and blend until the almonds become a “flour” consistency ( Be careful not to blend too much, the almonds turn into almond butter after too much blending and I am saving that recipe for next time
- After the almonds become almond flour, pour the sweetener and cocoa powder into your blender, blend for 15 seconds
- Crack your egg into the blender and blend until you get a thick “batter” consistency
- Last but not least, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes, or microwave for 60 seconds!
